- If I became handicapped, would I trust this person to stay with me and take care of me?
- Will this person make a good parent for our children?
- If I died when our kids were young, would I trust this person to marry a good parent for our children?
- Am I willing to give up my independence for this person and my future family?
- Can this person be trusted to follow scriptural principles?
- Does this person love Jesus more than they love me?

- We need to avoid pondering the no-brainers.
- Position yourself to hear God’s voice.
- We need to quiet ourselves.
- As we practice hearing God’s voice, one of the keys is to worry about small steps rather than the big steps.
- Is what God is saying stand the test of time?
- Be real with God.
- Follow your passions, promptings, gifting, and peace.
