From my perspective, we need to convert to renewable energy sources faster, not because of climate change, but because of our depletion of a non-renewable resource.

Climate change is a significant issue, and alarming, however the larger conversation that nobody is focusing on the depletion of resources that are irreversible.

From an innovation perspective, depleting a valuable resource that could possibly be used in the future for alternative reasons is a far larger reason for us to convert to renewable energy sources then climate change.

From my perspective, issues of climate change will become so significantly important that there will be a whole host of entrepreneurs that will focus on mitigating these problems. Destruction always gets our attention.

However, if we deplete a reversible resource, we could never get them back. This is especially problematic economically if we think of alternative ways to use this resource in the future.

However, the issue of possibility and opportunities is amorphus, and reacting to upside potential in a hundred years is not that interesting to most people.
