This episode filled my heart so full with that Mama love. Aruna has such a beautiful story and an amazing outlook on motherhood in general.

Aruna M. Lepore was born and raised in the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago). She earned her MBA at the University of Florida in 2003 and returned home to Trinidad to co-direct her family’s company. Some years later, she married a US citizen, moved to the US and began a family there. She took her motherhood role very seriously, hung up her corporate hat, and got busy with being the best mom she could be.

During the first pandemic year, she decided to use her love of nurturing her kids, telling them stories, and painting, to create her first children’s book, PEANUT THE PENGUIN, which has been well-received since its publication. This new passion has encouraged her to continue to create and soon she will begin working on her next children’s book. This journey from businesswoman, to full-time stay-at-home mother, to author and illustrator (and assistant nursery school teacher) was molded by a strong mother-figure who taught her the most valuable lessons of unconditional love and sacrifice.
