Colorism is a global issue. In this episode, Ayoka discusses the origins of colorism and some historically colorist practices including; blue vein societies and the paper bag test. She also talks about how it has influenced things within our society such as hiring practices, representation, and the huge skin lightening industry. She mentions her annoyance with the whole preference thing, which is really just a cover for colorism and racism.  The episode finishes up with some things we can do to combat colorism.
