When people look up to you it is easy to unintentionally influence decisions even when you aren't the expert in the room.

As the saying goes, "Hire experts and then get out of their way." 

But just sharing your opinion can be in the way, swaying the conversation and the decision. 

Dr. Laura Dowling, Beth Hill Poulin, John Mollison and I got to have a really interesting conversation about it and another idea came up at the end - how do you keep teams from gravitating to the mediocre middle ground?
