So coming out of beauty school should mean you know everything about hair, right? Wrong. Curly and textured hair are COMMONLY left out of the curriculum meaning it's up to haircare professionals to learn that on our own.
I was put in a position that no one should have to be in as a student. I was given no choice but to take my braids out and chemically straighten my hair to meet the requirements for my education. That meant both my classmates didn't get experience with textured hair, and I caused permanent damage just to receive the education I paid for.
