Just before New Year’s Eve in 2000, the Miyazawa family from Setagaya, Japan were preparing for a new start into the year 2001. They were excited that in the new year, they could finally move homes and start afresh but none of that happened in the end.

Instead, what happened to the Miyazawa would soon become one of Japan’s long standing mysteries that to this very day is still being investigated by the police and obsessed over by web sleuths.
