In the late 80s, the mining town of Baiyin (白银) was plagued not only by an increase in unemployment but also by a series of killings that lasted well into the new millennium. The killer flew under the radar for almost three decades and only a chance encounter with someone he knew finally gave the police the lead they so badly needed.
