WEEK 2 INTRODUCTION
There are two beliefs that inform your identity more than any other: what you believe about God, and what you believe about you. These two beliefs shape almost everything about how you see and interpret life, love, meaning, value, and eternity. Regardless of how deeply you consciously think about these, all of your sense of self, purpose, and meaning stem from this quiet, or not so quiet, debate inside you. Last week we learned about who God is. This week we will explore who God says you are.
The health of a person’s soul can be determined by the cohesion of three internal pillars: Identity (who and Whose I am), Faith (what and why I believe), and Character (consistently living out who I am and what I believe). The soul is at peace when these three pillars are aligned, and the soul is in conflict when they are not. Because we are made by Him and for Him, it is He who knows how to calibrate all three of these pillars. As we anchor our identity in Him, place our faith in Him, and align our behavioral compass to His true north, our soul finds its rest in Him.
