Billy Mitchell is a name familiar to British folk fans. A stalwart of the folk scene, Billy has performed with numerous bands and outfits since the '60s, namely The Callies, Jack the Lad, Maxie & Mitch, and ‘Newcastle’s favourite sons’ Lindisfarne. All the while, Billy has stayed true to his roots, exploring the history and heritage of the North East through albums and collaborations with his fellow North East brothers-in-arms, including his album The Devils Ground and his collaborations with Bob Fox and the Pitmen Poets.
