“Ashlee, here! I’m a middle school special Ed teacher, happily married with two handsome boys!
I’ve literally always been the big girl and have struggled with my weight- still do. The first time I successfully lost weight was as a senior in HS. I went from 210-170 lbs. I kept it off for a few years, until I turned 21 and lots of late night bar hopping + ihop or Whataburger runs at 3 am helped my weight to skyrocket. Since that point it’s been an up and down roller coaster. I’d always seem to lose the same 40-50 lbs, just to gain it back again. At my lowest (mental) point, I ate + drank my feelings. And no, I wasn’t a drunk 🥴 I just enjoyed a beverage or two most nights. I shot up to 230 lbs and I wasn’t pregnant nor was it pregnancy weight related (highest pregnant weight was 248) at that point I knew I NEEDED help that I couldn’t give to myself. I was TIRED of trying and not getting anywhere. My mental battle with food was a lost cause and I was starting to hate who I was becoming.
Weight loss surgery. BEST DECISION EVER... PERIOD. 9/5/2019 was the day I took my life back.”
