Custom Created Life focuses on our uniqueness, our calling and the things we figure out along the way that help us find or pursue our purpose. Weekly we will talk about life and the way in which God is calling us to move, live and learn. Then each Wednesday we will have a quick encouraging word to refresh our hearts and minds, reminding us we are not along and God is for us.
What tables are you surrounding yourself with? What does it matter and how are you impacting those who you choose to sit with as well as the impact others have on you. Why does it matter?
We think so often we have to be in this go go go mentality and yet when we stop on the new plateau that we have climbed to, we need to look around. We need to enjoy the view, take a breathe and a deep sigh celebrating all the things we have done and yet to do!
Why does our perspective matter way more than our perceptions? Which ones do we have control over and which ones do we not? Find out now!
There are so many seasons of life some that run as currents through our lives at the same time. How do we handle navigate and move through these seasons? It all comes down to knowing ourselves, knowing our creator, and leaning in actively waiting and listening.
Do you ever feel like there are seasons of life when you feel like you work all the time and you have nothing to show for it? There are times in our lives where are working in the waiting matters and set us up for success when the avalanches come.
Sometimes you get thrown curve balls in life that you don’t choose but that happen to you. When this happens we can’t control what happened but we can control our response and our reframing in and about the situation. Listen in how perspective changes things!
Did you ever think about how some people have purpose passion filled content consistently and others lack it all? Listen in to this info!
Yesterday my son learned a hard lesson and it got me thinking about the fear that we have when lessons have to be learned. What scripture says about fear is a huge reminder to trust the process and trust God knowing we are changing, learning and growing. Fear is a liar.
What it looks like when things don’t look the way you want them to. I had hoped to wrap 2022 up in a pretty bow and pack it away. That didn’t happen. So on day two I am packing up some literal things but also some mental things that I don’t have space for in 2023. We are making room for the unknown and the aligned which is coming.
Our entire house was hit with the flu and we all went down different days and different symptoms. It was rough. What helped our family thrive during the grossness.
The second part of this two part series. Why do we set goals and what are our goals for the upcoming year? What do we need to change or do better to lead to lasting results.
As we are thinking about the new year. That is often time we set goals. How often do you set goals for yourself? Does it matter? This two part series will dive in to goals and maybe a few different ways to think about them.
This topic can make you hurt or feel bad about yourself but that is not the intent. When have you giving up on something because you knew it was no longer for you? When have you given up on something when you know with a bit more effort you could finish it? When you have you given up on something that mattered?
This topic could get steamy! I grew up being trained with a mindset about how I dress and some of these traits have filters to me as a mom. What do you think matters and why?
We all have seasons where we are super overwhelmed and get over things super quickly. There are times in our life that are hard and unexpected and times in our life when we don't know what to do or where to turn. God is with us during those times. Take a bit to step back and retreat to some comforts for a moment to remind you of your passion and purpose and then turn up the volume when God is calling you to walk through the hard times to get to something great. There is purpose in our seasons, and in each season we learn and have the opportunity to grow.
Sometimes even thinking outside our comfort zone inspires change, trust, and new thought patterns. Today we talk about living internationally. What could be different? What would stay the same? Why does it matter?
There are so many people that we interact with in a daily basis. However we know who OUR people are almost instantaneously! My close friends, my family are chosen also because we build each other up. We support and we encourage!
A change of one word makes a difference! By and with. With Jesus there is so much that we can accomplish!
There are times in life where we are called and needed to be serious. However, I think that many people lose themselves during these times and often just make life serious. That is not how we are created. We are created with some beauitful, loud, and colorful emotions and we need to create safe spaces to let them out, to enjoy life, to laugh deep, to love long and to live intentionally and joyfully. During this episode hear one thing that stuck with me about 2 people you need to please and how it plays into my maybe not so serious life.
There are many things in life that we attempt for ourselves that we do without even second thought. Yet, when times get tough we realize that things often fall to the wayside and we only do what is absolutely necessary. We also realize that we need a mediator like Job questioned God for in chapter 9 of his book. We need a mediator who can walk in on our behalf and fight for us in a way that moves the spiritual landscape. There is a spiritual battle that is happening daily and we have to be reminded of whose we are and walk in that promise.
Things happen in our life that are always unplanned, unforeseen and unexpected. The wonderful thing about God is that he works in these exact situations. Our God is a God of the unexpected and we see it time and time again that when we are in midst of the unexpected God surprises us and moves in crazy ways. w
What do you do when seasons, situations, and circumstances change? Today I talk about the importance of quickly reprioritizing, recentering, and refocusing your life. It is when we do this quickly that we can stay the course or easily change courses to be the better people that we are striving to be. During this season we understand that life happens but it does not mean that it needs to throw off our mindset, quit our trajectory or change our timeline for goals we just have to do some self evaluation in making the steps and the plans that work for us.
Are you in a place in your life where you need to find shelter or are you in a place where you are able to move forward and be out in the open. Knowing what we need in each stage of our lives is very tricky but it can make or break how we move forward and move forward successfully and without burnout. Together we are on the journey to learn and grow.
We all have times and situations in life that require us to pivot and to change things from how we have always done them to how we now have to do this and COVID was a prime example. We are learning how to do things in new and different ways. However, sometimes we don't know what to do when life throws lemons and truthfully all we want to do is throw them back because it is not what we had planned. Learning how to pivot is essential for the process of growth and understanding that God has a bigger and better plan.
Sometimes circumstances and situations in our life are momentary. They are fleeting. Sometimes they test us to our very nature and other times they bring us joy and hope. Reminding ourselves to hold fast to the promises of God we find ourselves in this place of holding on the what has happened and what is to come at the same time often over shadowing the present what is now. May we take time to listen to the seasons experience the beginning and the end of the seasons and really pay attention to how He is moving us in this custom created life.
Reminding myself that after this weekend's soccer game the various types of community and how we all need support and encouragement.
I jokingly put a reel on Instagram this week about only impacting four people with the truth that those four people may be exactly who you need to reach. Pay attention to your surroundings. Maybe you are only reaching what seems like a few but at a deep level. Keep working don't give up. Maybe you feel called for more but it isn't there yet. Keep working don't give up. Maybe you feel like you don't even have a voice. Keep working it is within you. Give yourself some grace. You got this.
We often feel like we are constantly giving and often not receiving. Sometimes we feel like we have not enough time in the day. Yet we are each given the same amount of time in the day and the responsibility to use our resources wisely. How we invest our resources in each other, in things of this world, and in eternal value makes a difference and we constantly see this play out. Join us on this podcast as we look at much is given and much is required. We are asked to invest. How and where we do that is our choice.
Invest wisely.
There are so many things in life that are reminding us of our faults and our failures and our capacity to not follow through. Yet, God wants us to persevere and push through struggles with his help to meet the goals and the successes that he has for us in this life. This does not mean that we can't pause, reflect, retreat, stop, or shift but it does mean that we must at some point get up and get going again. Join us today as we share the hope of Jesus and the reminder that we can work with him for his glory.
Humble is not something that we are naturally. When we think about someone being humble, we think of wonderful qualities, patience, peaceful, not rushed or overbearing but loving and hopeful. We can become more of these things when we put others first. In today's episode, we talk about Luke 18:9-14 as we discover what it can look like to boast versus be humble and how God wants to use us to make a difference.
If we really listen into our lives and our hearts all mom's experience mom guilt. I think som struggle with it mentality more than others. However we need to change our mindset about the presence of parenting. How can we encourage and equip our children to love and be loved when we don't love ourselves enough to show ourselves grace, peace, and rest?
Children are a blessing from God and we are reminded that we don't have to be perfect to be present.
Have you ever been to the point you are just so overwhelmed you don't know where to turn? Well me too. Listen to this episode to feel encouragement from Jesus that He is always with us and for us reminding us that we are not alone.
This episode almost did not happen.... but God. In his infinite wisdom gave me a choice to choose to obey or to go to comfort. Joy today is found in the little things. The hopes and the dreams that have become reality bring joy, and the ways in which God moves in all things mysterious to bring good to those who love him. May your cup of joy today overflow and you smile at the ways in which you see God moving and working.
Have we ever questioned our own personal strength? We want to know our personal limits, what we are capable of, where we can go without anyone else helping us. God is reminding us in this scripture that there is not a time during the day or the night where he is not on watch for us, guarding and protecting us. He is also reminding us of his capacity and strength saying that our strength is not from the mountains our strength is from God who MADE the mountains.
Have you ever thought about how you get your fruit? Fruit does not produce fruit. Fruit produces seeds, which when planted correctly and nourished over time produce fruit. This means that fruit is not instantaneous when you give someone the tools, it is cultivated. We during this season of struggle have to cultivate so many things. We have to cultivate joy, hope, peace and so much more. God calls us to bear much fruit. We are not responsible for how the seed is planted by the other person just how we plant our own seed.
Have you ever sat and thought what if I did something different or made a change. Would it actually be enough to change the course of history? I will say that though I have questioned this often, I will never know the answer to some of these questions. However, I do know the things that I have minutely changed I have seen ripple effects and fruit from the very little and consistent action over the course of time.
What and see what He can do through the What if's.
We are reminded that we are not meant to live this life alone but we are meant to live it in community with each other and with God. We take a look at 1st Thessalonians 5:12-15 and see how God wants us to be with others to support, encourage equip and motivate one another to make a difference in the world around us but also remember that certain people need to only be in our innermost circle.

This episode is about picking a word for the year that you use as a lens to see life. Join this journey of encouragement as you learn, lead, and lean in together.
Elizabeth talks with Jacynthia Bailey, entrepreneur, mom, speaker, prayer warrior, and pastor's wife as to how we navigate this road we call life to bring about awareness to our friends and family. We discuss how to live as examples and walk the way we are supposed to while remembering we are human and at times we all mess up.
This year we are adding in a mid-week time to encourage one another. Maybe it is a scripture or two, or a song, or maybe it is something that I witnessed during my day-to-day life that I felt God wanting me to share with you. I hope this time together in the middle of the week for just a few minutes allows you to rest, to lean into God, and to breathe a little deeper than maybe you did before. We are in this Custom Created Life together.
