The Cleveland Browns got back to the winning side, beating the Washington Commanders, 24-10, on New Year’s Day. The first half was a miserable half of football for both teams, but the Browns offense awoke in the second half. The Browns, behind the great dual-threat ability of quarterback Deshaun Watson, scored 21 points in the second half to pull away from the Commanders. With Cleveland officially out of the playoffs, the main task for this team was to get Watson and the offense going. And, they did just that. The first half was a struggle, but Watson really heated up in the second half. The quarterback found Amari Cooper often, with Cooper nabbing two touchdown receptions in the half. Watson showed his ability to create plays with his arm and legs, illustrating the immense talent he has as a quarterback. This was the sign we wanted to see in these last couple of games. With the win, the Browns move to 7-9 as they move onto the final game of the year.
