In today's topic, I wanna talk about how to avoid overeating. I want to try to help you guys out since we're going to be out of lockdown. I imagine you guys are going to be seeing your friends that you haven't seen in a while, being able to eat foods you haven't been to eat in a while, and drink and spend time with people.
So I want to make sure that I want to equip you guys with the knowledge that you need to make sure that you set yourself up for success.
Now, just like with everything, when you abstain from a particular activity or a particular indulgence for a very long time, like an elastic band, you're pulling it back. And once you let go, it's going to come backswing, and it's going to hit you pretty hard.
So tonight, you guys are all very likely to potentially go overboard, and it's not within your control. I want you to understand that on a hormonal level, it plays a factor as well. If you guys have been dieting for the last four, five, or six months, that's a very long time to be dieting and to put your body in that position of depriving yourself of food.
Ghrelin, which is a hunger hormone, is going to go into overdrive. And so when you get that first taste of like delicious food that you haven't had in a while, even if for the last three months, you've had no issues with falling off track in your discipline.
But when you get that taste, it's going to be outside your control. For some part of it, it's going to be outside your control, but you can't make a difference. So how can we prevent overeating?
