Let's get into today's topic. This is going to be a nice short and sweet one and I want to talk about keeping it simple. So for me, one of my drawbacks is that I have a need to be perfect. I have a need to always want to perfect my execution.
And over time I've kind of narrowed this down and kind of figured out why I feel the way I feel it's because you guys know the story. I grew up having ADHD always made to feel inadequate and less compared to other people, always behind the path. I was never the best at anything that I did.
There was always people that were better and I was always last. I was picked last. And yes, over time I felt the need to want to be perfect. I felt like if I were to do anything I wanted to be the best at what I did and I didn't want to put myself out there until I was the best.
And so when I'm talking about my fitness strategy I would go online or spend hours and hours if not days and weeks researching putting together the perfect strategy. I remember there was a time this is probably 20 10, 20 11 when the keto diet first started to take popularity and I tried keto.
I got some results short term and then I learned about intermittent fasting and I got some results short-term. And then one day I was just putting everything together. I bought like expensive fat burners. I did keto and intermittent fasting. So I was eating between and then the windows.
For intermittent fasting, most people will be like 16 hours fast eight-hour eating window. I would take it to the extreme and I'll have a 20 hours fast four-hour eating window. So I'd literally eat from one to. 05:00 p.m.. And that's when I would eat.
So I'm trying to create this perfect strategy where I'm like yeah I'm going to do cardio and I planned out how much cardio is going to do each week for two or three months. And I did like the diet, everything. I try to put together the ultimate strategy and guess what, it didn't work.
I wasn't able to adhere to it for a very long time as you can expect like intermittent fasting and you have a window as drastic as 4 hours is tough enough. But having all these restrictions imposed upon your diet and all these rules that you have to follow, all these touchpoints become, they make it impossible for you to actually adhere to a long term.
And I want you guys to know that the key to achieving success and getting to the edge end of the line or achieving your results is actually the simplest. Why? Because you can adhere to simple strategies for the longest amount of time.
