Today, we are talking about why the scale doesn't matter now, especially on our fitness journey. t's very easy for us to be obsessed with the scale and the weight. So if you guys are tuning in at the moment, drop some five in the comments below. Let me know that you guys appreciate these lives. I can continue to do it. I think this week we're at like, three, three or four lives of this week. So I really love doing these lives. One of your biggest wins. One of my biggest wins this week is being able to eat different varieties of food. Right? Because especially after my contest, all I wanted to eat was just sweets. I had this unhealthy obsession just eating sweets. And now I'm very fortunate to actually have hang to actually program for me my food.

So I have my calorie targets for the day, obviously, just like everyone else would. But I'd actually have hang to be able to Cook my food. So you better see that in my story, super interesting types of foods, lots of desserts in there as well, but well balanced diet. Get into the main potato today we are talking about why the scale doesn't matter and the scale is only going to give you only one side of the picture. It's one dimensional. It's only one number, and it doesn't define whether you're losing or gaining weight at all. It definitely doesn't. What happens if you're going to build muscle while losing weight at the same time, you could be dieting. You're going on this journey.

Your scale doesn't actually move. And what do you do? Do you think like you're not losing any fat and then you end up cutting your calories again. And we've spoken about it before. And the reading is why you're not losing weight because you're not giving your body enough energy or fuel to actually lose weight.

So how do we work around this? Why doesn't the scale matter? Let's talk about the factors that Let's talk about the factors that are involved in your weight reading. Water retention. Water can fluctuate in the kilos from a day to day basis. Right. So one day you might drink more water than another. You might feel stressed. Stress. You start to produce Cortisol, which is a stress hormone, and that's going to make you retain water. Let's think about why we retain water when we're stressed, right? It could be emotional stress, physical stress. Any stress you need to look at things fundamentally. T

hink about our ancestors. Why would our ancestors feel stressed? It could be through periods where we're not able to Hunt or find any food. When we're afraid of danger, we might need to hide for shelter. So our body produces that stress hormone as a survival mechanism to retain onto whatever resources that we have. So we can go through periods where we might not have any food or water and we can still survive.

Our bodies are very intelligent. It's just constantly adapting and growing to our environment. So even though we're in modern society at the moment and we don't have to Hunt for foods, we still go through stress a lot. A lot of physical stress, a lot of emotional stress. So stress, water weight is going to fluctuate within the kilos. Okay, now, if you're losing weight, what happens if you're losing weight, maybe half a kilo a week. But then your weight is fluctuating in the kilos. How are you going to see that?

So the scale is not an accurate representation of whether you're losing weight or gaining weight. Another one is if you go onto a diet fat like, for example, keto, when you're depriving yourself of carbohydrates, right?
