Dan speaks with Lewis Blakelock, who is in the early stages of land and industrial developments. Lewis used to be a high-street food-chain restaurant Manager (Finger Lickin Good) and turned to property to escape the rat race, like many do. Through networking, changing roles Lewis opened the door up to many opportunities and whilst investing in his own education and personal development, met developers, who now he has fantastic relationships with.
Not only does he invest himself, he has managed to source on Land development opportunities and shares tips on important mindset is at this scale of property development, and how to protect or mitigate risks that may be unforeseen, which we know in property is a majority of the time.
Lewis has also appeared on the property elevator pitching for north of £1m. Not bad in just a few years of being in property.
Key Takeaways:
Material prices have shot up loadsssss
Due dilligence is key, the more work at the front end, the less likely to have issues throughout the development
Surround yourself with experienced people
Networking is key to growth
Opportunity is always round the corner
