You cannot be authentic without being honest. The more you seek connection and safety at the cost of authenticity, the more you will lie, manipulate, people please or fake who you truly are in order to do so. Not only that, but the world at large, society and culture, rewards this behavior, because it rwards the illusion of a "good image" in materialistic terms, not in true inner fulfilment and meaning. Liberatiion comes from aligning with truth and speaking it, being your authentic self and taking the consequences of that, good and bad. This is what it means to mature spiritually, not just get older and remain an unseen child on the inside. Embrace honesty, embrace the consequences and the universe will align you with your path.
