Music before the event was performed by an ensemble featuring vocalist Linda Ransom, along with Rick Reyes (guitar/vocals), Asher Delerme (percussion), Josh Bruneau (trumpet), Matt Dwonszyk (bass) and Jen Allen (piano). The set list included Charles Mingus’ “Haitian Fight Song,” Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” and Abel Meeropol’s “Strange Fruit.”
