David West was selected with the 18th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Hornets (now the New Orleans Pelicans). He spent the majority of his career with the Hornets/Pelicans and later played for other teams, including the Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs, and Golden State Warriors.

David West won his first NBA championship in 2017 as a member of the Golden State Warriors. He played a crucial role off the bench, providing veteran leadership and valuable contributions. He then won his second NBA championship with the Warriors in 2018.
