We don't want you to be stuck, we want to help you move forward! These myths are the ones we see holding people back most often. It can be really easy to procrastinate those new things you want to try or big goals you have but the truth is, it's not going to get easier to do the hard thing. However, it's a bad idea to do a full 180 and try to get multiple new habits to stick simultaneously. Start small and work your way up, stacking habits as you go.

A big question we get is "how do you stay motivated?" and the simple answer is, we don't! We stay consistent. We've learned how to build habits that keep us consistent. Furthermore, we know that failure is fabulous! It is our greatest teacher, allowing us to constantly learn and improve. Stop getting in your own way by believing the worst of yourself. We love quotes. We are quote people. But there are some quotes out there that have become glamorized versions of the truth. They've become untruthful, misleading, and sometimes even harmful. Today we're tearing apart one of these quotes in order to shift the narrative around what it takes to be successful. We share the good and bad effects of using the quote in our sporting days, in our businesses, and we look back at the origin of the quote to highlight how it has changed over time.

Anastasia Bucsis is a two-time Olympic speed skater, born and raised in Calgary. In the lead-up to Sochi 2014, Anastasia came out publicly in opposition to Russia's anti-LGBTQ+ laws and competed as the only 'out' athlete from North America. Following her athletic career, Anastasia joined the CBC Sports team where she hosts "Player's Own Voice- The Podcast." She is a host and analyst at CBC, where she hosts on multiple platforms while staying connected to her speed skating roots by providing color commentary on Road to the Olympic Games. Anastasia is a passionate advocate for mental health issues, eradicating homophobia in sport, and telling the stories of Canada's high-performance athletes.

We love Anastasia for her ability to be her authentic self in any situation regardless of who is in the room, her bravery, and her willingness to jump into new opportunities without knowing where she'll land because she trusts herself to figure it out. All of these qualities shine through as she shares her story. She opens up about her struggle with depression, the process she went through to learn to love and respect herself, and the things she learned from sport that she now uses in the business arena.

The technology in our lives is undeniably valuable in a lot of ways. But the truth is, it does not have our best interests at heart. The devices and apps that we use are designed to keep us on longer and more frequently. So it is up to us to decide what is best for us. It is up to us to create healthy boundaries that allow us to thrive with technology instead of letting it run our lives. We want to help you with this. On this episode we share some of the negative side effects that technology can have and why setting boundaries is so important. We tell you about the boundaries that work for us and we offer suggestions for both macro and micro-changes that you can experiment with in your life to help yourself feel your best, reclaim control over the devices in your life, and intentionally give each day your whole self.

We're talking about a hot topic today, morning routines. It's common to look at the morning routines of successful people and think you should just copy them. But copying them really makes no sense because they don't fit into your unique, wild, and precious life. You need a routine that works for you, your goals, and your body clock.

Overall, we believe that your morning routine is meant to work for you, but also work with you.

We're bringing you two suggestions that we feel will provide a really strong starting place for you to build a morning routine that helps you show up at your best. If you are not currently practicing a morning routine, let this be the week that you take one of the ideas from this episode and take action in creating your own morning routine.

Georgia Simmerling is quite literally the definition of resilience. She has competed at four different Olympics in three different sports. She has over 30 pieces of metal in her body from breaking her legs, spine, wrists, and many more injuries throughout her career. Commitment, dedication, and perseverance are quite literally part of Georgia's DNA.

She is now retired from all of the sports and has founded her company, AG Sports, a marketing agency where she is boldly shifting the conversation from the male-dominated sports agency and focusing on female-centric athletes, sports, and stories.

Sometimes people mistake resilience as a thing that you suddenly acquire or find but that's simply not true. You'll hear in this conversation with Georgia that its a process that takes repeatedly redefining purpose in your life, finding or creating small actionable and achievable goals that continue to give you a path of progress, and celebrating every small accomplishment.

Georgia shows up in the episode as her full self and candidly shares her story. This episode has so many great takeaways, and we can't wait to share them all with you! Listen all the way to the end for a little behind-the-scenes conversation about one of Georgia's hobbies.

We want everyone to feel their best. We want to normalize being aware of what you're putting into your body so that you can make the choices that make you feel your best.

On this episode we're focusing on caffeine. We get into some nerdy stuff about caffeine that we think you deserve to know because you need to know what you're fueling your body with. We get into why we love it, why we don't love it, and we talk about high performance caffeination habits. There is a way to use caffeine to your advantage but there's also a way that can be really damaging to your body in the long term. It may even be secretly sabotaging your effectiveness in the short term.

Just because you can be better doesn't mean that you're not good enough right now.

We know first-hand that high achievers often focus on what we are not doing good enough so that we can make a change. But we want to challenge you to stop looking at all the things you are doing wrong in order to get better. Instead, look at the things you truly believe you do great and look at the things you want to do better. Be enough and strive for more.
