With Robert out, Phil and Chad discuss what it means to have self doubt and how to overcome it. A reference to the 1980s movie Top Gun is made as well.
We take a question from a viewer in which we are asked to explain our understanding of Ephesians 4:13. We start out by reading that passage in teh Amplified Bible and the discussion ensues from there.
Do you get offended easily? Are there triggers points or people that cause offense more than others? Phil starts us out talking about a situation where he offended a church member, but not on purpose. Satan uses offense to draw us in, make us not love another and grasp us more in his grip.

The three ordinary guys start out talking about the upcoming eclipse (Recorded April 5, 2024) then continue on about how being hyper-focused on the end times can be harmful.
What are your expectations of God? And how is that working out for you? It would be better for us to ask God what His expectations of us are and live accordingly but be careful who you ask. Ask God and not a fellow human because we don't always tell others what God really expects, but the Bible does.
Robert has chosen some Kingdom Principles that he wishes to share. They come from a Pat Robertson book, The Secret Kingdom, that Robert read. Understanding the kingdom principles will explain to us why it may seem like God doesn't answer prayers. God operates in the Kingdom and if we don't align ourselves with that, we will be confused and lost.
The principles are: 1) Seeking the Kingdom 2) Prospering 3) Sowing and Reaping 4) Unity 5) Dominion 6) Responsibility 7) Expectation 8) Change 9) Greatness 10) Use 11) Perseverance 12) Miracles
With Robert back with us, we try to tackle the subject that Phil and Chad tackled, but failed due to the microphone issue. What is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and more importantly, when and how does a believer receive it? Each share a testimony about their experience and we speak on speaking/praying in tongues as well. If you don't believe us at the beginning, you very well may at the end and at the very least, we will give you something to take to God to see if we are correct. This is not in any way shape or form aligned with a denomination, a movement, a cult or any other modern day clique based on the word of God. Oops, Chad, I can't hear you. Yes, we had a technical issue with our recent recording and didn't have time to re record it. So we put together a montage of our recordings (140 of them so far) and decided to take a trip down memory lane. Enjoy this collection.
Going to Ephesians 2:1-10 we discuss what it means to be Holy and how holiness has become a scary thing for many because of legalism. Many people who are legalistic don't even realize they are doing it but we attack it full force and explain how legalism is the enemy of holiness and how it was God who created us to be holy, not one another.
When we allow something to be cluttered, it pushes out things that should be in that space or need to be in that space. When we allow clutter into our minds, we can keep out the things of God. The enemy gets us to fill our minds with social media, many various teachings, and pride seeking matters. We discuss these things and ways we have decluttered our minds.
We start out carrying on the conversation from last week regarding the old covenant and new covenant and this leads into a discussion of following the Spirit verses legalism. We then move into what it looks like when we really do follow the Spirit. We talk about prayer and hearing from God as well.
How do you proclaim what faith is to someone? What do we do when God doesn't answer our prayers or seemingly don't give us what we feel He should be giving. What if we dot the I's and cross the T's? What about grace and how does it fit in? Chad and Phil sit down to discuss this and more in this episode.
Is It easy or hard to know God? We start out with that loaded question to talk about how easy God makes it for us to know Him, but also we talk about how hard we often make it. We turn it into a discussion on the love of God. Love is a kingdom principle and all of the law and prophets hang on it. So we don't really come up with a good solution but we have fun talking about it.
Is it the Demons, The Flesh, or something else that causes us to give into temptation? What is the difference. We dive into that tonight but agree in most cases, it was not the devil that made you do it.
Does God allow us to be tested. This question can be answered many ways and some of those ways can make God look bad or make Him look divine. It is one that should be approached reverently but delicately and it is the question we tackle in this episode. James 1 and Romans 5 make it pretty clear that our faith will be tested, but it's the outcome of this testing that is more important than who is "allowing" the testing to be done.
Chad starts us off by asking the question: "Did Ruth redeem the Moabites (See Deut 23:3) when she married Boaz?" This sparks a deep conversation about the Kinsmen redeemer and we branch off from there in typical UpLift fashion.
We continue the conversation from last week with more discussion on who the Holy Spirit is. We take it more to a side of worship this time. We also reflect on what was in 2023 and how God helped us come out of that.
In the last episode of the year, we discuss who the Holy Spirit is. As 1 of 3 in the Godhead, we talk about who He is to us and try to help others come to a better understanding of Him. Happy New Year and we will see you in 2024

Perception is everything. To a group of people travelling at enormous speeds in a circular direction, but do not perceive it since we and the world all travel at that speed, perception may be a difficult concept to grasp. Too often the enemy tries to mess with our perception by telling us everything is beyond our control. But is it? Ian, Chad, and Phil talk about perception and how things are not what they seem on this episode of UpLift.

Starting out talking about Kody's Kause, a memorial tribute on facebook in which participants are asked to show a random act of kindness, the discussion turns to just how do we "Be Kind". We decide it is best to let this fruit of the spirit be just that, a fruit produced in us by the Spirit of God.

UpLift 39 - God tells us to mount up on Eagle's wings and soar. When you are on Eagle's wings, you see things from a very different perspective. Not only will problems seem smaller, but they will be easier to see through. Chad, Ian and Phil talk about rising above our problems and seeing them from God's perspective.
We all have days like this. No matter how much we try, no matter what we do, we feel like we are just trudging through mud. But don't give up, there is hope. Our God wants to help us through and lends a hand to hold on to. The mud dries up and the land can be restored. Never give up, trust God.

In the season 1 season finale, Chad, Phil, and Ian discuss the greatness that is in us and then talk about the future and how UpLIft will look next year when we return. We will be back in early January.
While trying to add features that would enhance the show, we ran into some technical difficulties. So we decided to talk about it and see where The LORD led us. We go from dreams to false teachers and back to a relationship with God.
It's Thanksgiving in the United States and Phil, Ian and Chad took the night off. But what we have for you is Pastor Ian's testimony about dealing with Covid that he gave to his congregation upon his return after being off for five weeks. A touching and tremendous story.
Ian returns after a bout with Covid and Chad stays on for the transition. The three of us discuss what freedom in Christ means and encourage all to be a part of it.
Outside the Fulcrum Radio studio, Chad and Phil remotely discuss what it means to follow God's plan for your life. Due to a Covid scare, we had to do a remote session. But the message is still good.
