Road closures for summer construction and an East Anchorage sinkhole are keeping motorists on their toes this fall. Plus, major flooding in Talkeetna is eroding the riverbank and triggering a disaster declaration, the Anchorage Assembly voted in favor of pulling roughly $2.4 million in unused American Rescue Plan Act funds to cover the costs of the emergency cold weather shelter plan, and since July 2022, a total of 36 residents have taken a flight away from Anchorage, a plan that was implemented by Mayor Dave Bronson to help alleviate the homeless problem.
