Shanaya Barretto is a first-year mechatronics student engineer at the University of Waterloo and a 2021 Schulich Leader. By joining the Payload Team, a sub-team of Waterloo Rocketry, competing in hackathons like EngHack, and taking outside programming courses to supplement her learning, Shanaya applies her passions in electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
