In the midst of this story of hope that we celebrate, there is a story of grief and death. Yet the hope of eternity shows up in the middle of that grief and pain. In that moment, Jesus comes…the one that would later preach, “Blessed are those that mourn.” God does not protect us from suffering instead, he shows up in the midst of it - Emmanuel.
