In our study today, the very same religious crowds who tried and crucified the Lord Jesus Christ are coming after the apostles Peter and John. The reason? They were grieved that they taught the people, and preached of the resurrection from the dead through Jesus. It was because Jesus is alive that the lame man was miraculously healed!

According to Deuteronomy 13:1-5, “If there arose among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass (and the lame man is right there before their very eyes), whereof he spoke unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul”.

That was why they asked Peter and John the question, “By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” To which they replied, “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at naught of you builders, which is become the head of the corner”.

Touchee!! “It was by The Name of Yeshua Christos, whom you crucified but whom the God of our Fathers rose from the dead, that this man stands before you whole”.

After being threatened to stop preaching in the Name of Jesus, Peter and John, filled with The Holy Ghost, (and the lame man) put their life on the line in sharing the resurrection of Jesus and the glorious gospel that “neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”. The only hope of salvation that any person or any nation has is in the Name of Jesus Christ!! You can count your life on it!! SELAH
