Have you heard of executive roundtables in the construction space? Why would somebody want to be involved in one of those?
Executive roundtable is a group of companies that are similar in type of work, similar in size, but geographically diverse. So there's no competitive overlap.
It's an opportunity for the owners or presidents of those companies to get together with people in their exact seat and talk about their business. They're best practices, sometimes bad practices. They in the context of lessons learned, then help each other, advise each other, provide insight back and forth, they'll compare everything from financials, insurance costs, labor costs, and they're not looking to steal ideas from each other, they're looking really to help each other out. The contribute to each other's success. And oftentimes the members will come in, and they'll have a problem and it can be the same problem others are having and they're getting advice from people that are in their exact seat.
For most other in most advisory roles, your attorney, your accountant, your IT professional, your HR consultant, anybody else people use for their business, they see the business through a specific lens. At the roundtable other business owners or other executives, they see it through that same umbrella.
Getting advice from people in that position is very unique. And so it's a big advantage for those organizations that are in a in a roundtable.
Projects around the world take so many people and companies but people so often do not talk. They have no one-on-one interaction. So if there's two organizations and they're doing an alliance or they're building a project together, the first thing that they need is dialogue. Dialogue around the commonality; What are the goals? Are we on the same page? And going through that and talking about that and putting it on a whiteboard or documenting that, and then just getting clarity because that's where a lot is achieved right there. It's just the understanding of what's important from one organization's perspective to the other.
