Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,Does it surprise you that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven? It isn’t a secret who abides under the wrath of God or as John puts it in his first epistle, who abides in death. He wrote in 3:14, “We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.” Godliness refers to one’s relationship with God, whereas righteousness has to do with relationships with man. God’s wrath, therefore is revealed against those who do not love God and do not love people. Why don’t they love God and people? The answer stated here is that they suppress or hold down the truth about God in their desire to do what they want in their relationships with others. We will see that stated more succinctly in verses 24-32. The sobering truth is that those who are experiencing God’s wrath are evident by their lack of love for God and others.Those who live to love with Jesus do not suppress the truth about God revealed in Jesus Christ and instead embrace it with all our hearts. God is righteous, and His righteousness is the standard of the Law. The resurrection of Jesus declares that Jesus’ righteousness has met God’s standard and that He is Lord of all. He lives, and His life dwells within those who believe. The evidence of God’s presence in  those who believe in Jesus is that they love because Jesus lives to love in them. The truth is that the righteous shall live by faith in Jesus Christ. It’s a faith that works through love for all of their lives. We continue each day, moment by moment, from faith to faith, for the glory of God.
