On this week's episode we converse all things Social Anxiety with Lisa Ibekwe. Many people like our host, Krystal Thomas suffers from social anxiety and has found it very difficult to navigate through the world. Tune in as Krystal chats with Lisa on what social anxiety is and the best ways you can conquer it.
Lisa Ibekwe is a young and zealous therapist who is passionate about her work with young people. She specializes in working with youth as young as two years old all the way through young adulthood. She was a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania before moving to Georgia where she is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is additionally licensed to serve Maine, Florida, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Utah, Rhode Island, and New Jersey where she works with children, teens, young adults, and families via telehealth. She graduated from St. Mary’s University in Texas with bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology. She then later obtained her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania where she also attained additional specialization certificates in working with Children, Youth, & Families and Human Service Management.
She is a Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) therapist and has additionally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting (BSP), Play Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Sandtray Therapy. As the owner and CEO of The Comfy Place, she has worked to create a judgement free environment where all can heal.
