"After getting home, Martina checked her phone, but there were

no messages. The realtor hasn’t returned her call. She looks at the

heaping piles of boxes and decides to take care of them tomorrow. Just the thought of opening a single box exhausts her.

While sipping a glass of red wine, she picks at the leftovers from lunch

but is primarily interested in the dessert. She tries reading a

book from where she last left off, but the words she’d read in

the journal keep replaying in her head, making it difficult to concentrate.
