"Attachment is a deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another person across time and space."- John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth.

Do you worry a lot about your relationships or fear losing people's love or place in their lives?

Today's episodes will discuss how to develop a more sophisticated way of building up a secure attachment with our loved ones and incorporating new relationships during our grieving process.

Experiencing multiple losses has brought sudden collapse to having a secure attachment. Once my attachment figures were gone, I used hyper-activating strategies such as crying and clinging on to restore closeness. However, that strategy did not work and left me with the constant worry about others being unreachable or ditching me when support was much needed. That led me to develop an insecure attachment, defined by approaching relationships characterized by fear or uncertainty. It suddenly did disrupt the normal process of recovery from loss. I had no trust and denied my emotional needs.
