(Airdate 4/10/25) Wilford Pinkney Jr is Assistant Chief Executive Officer overseeing the Community Safety Implementation Team (formerly the Jail Closure Implementation Team) of Los Angeles County. He previously stood up and led the Office of Violence Prevention for the City of St. Louis. He has spent over 35 years working in the criminal justice system. On this podcast we look at the closure of Los Angeles Men's Central Jail - a plan the LA County Board of Supervisors approved in 2021, and which does not appear closer to fruition in 2025.
