There are two prevailing thoughts in Christianity. The first seeks to elevate creeds, councils and confessions to the same level as the Scriptures, believing them to be a second source of special revelation. The second disregards them as man made traditions that hinder our spiritual growth and stand in the way of Sola Scriptura. The Reformers understood a third way, this is that these traditions constituted the Norma Normata, the Normed Norm. What is this mean though? That’s what Wyatt McIntyre will be exploring this week.
