The year is 1921.  The world is riding high new technologies and new explorations.  An expedition bound for Cairo counts among its number an archeologist, a society woman, a body guard and an expert in the occult.  After their plane crashes, what fate awaits them in the Barovian Valley?

The investigators have found refuge in the home of the recently passed Burgomaster.  But what of his daughter?  Or of the local lord and his obsession with her?  Every answer simply forces new questions as they continue to attempt to understand the darkness of this valley.
