The church must preach two things [1] to bring unbelievers to faith and [2] to bring believers closer to Jesus. However, if unbelievers are unlikely to set foot into a Sunday church service, it must rely on us to take this 'hope in Jesus' out into our communities. This Sunday we are going to discuss questions about hope.
Our friends need to hear about faith, love and hope in Jesus. Our friends need to hear about a personal God who holds us accountable and has provided the way for us overcome our mistakes & be reconciled with God our creator.
This is an important message indeed. We must overcome our fears, address others’ objections, and be prepared to be used by the Spirit to share the good news well. This is a continuation of our discussion on the spiritual practice of leading other to Jesus.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” 1 Peter 3:15
