This month we are looking at what it means to seek God. If, indeed, there is a Creator God in whose image we are made, would we not want to seek out a relationship with God and come to know God intimately? Would it not be wise to make that relationship the centerpiece of our lives and to pursue God with our entire being—heart, mind, soul, & strength?

Last week, we looked at seeking God in community. Seeking God is not a solo project. It is best done in the company of others. As we tell one another our stories and share the ways in which we have experienced the goodness of God, together, as God’s family, we grow closer to the Lord.

We seek God with confidence because Scripture promises us our seeking will be rewarded. But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 4:29) 

Today, we look at the other side of the story. The God we are seeking is seeking us! In all the ways and all the days of our lives, God is on our trail and on our tail, seeking us. God is the Good Shepherd who seeks all those who wander.
