Do you suffer from these common mistakes in Marketing in a Down Economy?

We just released our new episode of The Growth Engine Show where Trice Alford, CMO and me, Ryan Parshall, Growth Coach & Business Broker discuss Brand Strategy & Content in a Down Economy. Hear ideas and actions you can take to get through the toughest of times. Here's are just some of the points we make in this episode....

1. Importance of a Strong Brand

If you brand is memorable and relatable, then you will have TOMA (Top of Mind Awareness) when people need you right now. So strong brands win out in a tough economy!

2. Define Who You Are "Your DNA"

Do the research now so that you really know what your customers value the most. Define it so you know how to differentiate and deliver on those key benefits and beat competition out. After you define your Brand and DNA, educate your team on what your company stands for and what your culture is. They should know how to easily communicate these ideas and concepts to customers.

3. Tell Compelling Stories

Don't tell people you understand times are tough and so you are dropping prices. Instead go all in with confidence and smile and let them know you want their business!

4. Get in front of people...a lot!

CEOs..be the face of the company...get out there! Get on podcasts, create a lot of video for social, attend local events, book speaking engagements and more. The more you appear friendly and passionate about your industry, the better!

5. Create Timely and Relevant Content

Listen to customers for content ideas. Listen to their stories and tell them. Or better yet, video them telling it. Don't just complain about the economy, relate to what people are going through and show how you helped them.

I know there is so much more we can talk about on this topic, but we only have one episode to discuss. So you tell us, what do you think is most important when it comes to Marketing in a Down Economy?
