Lutz Koepnick is Max Kade Foundation Chair in German Studies, professor of cinema and media arts, and chair, Department of German, Russian and East European Studies at Vanderbilt. He studies film, media theory, visual culture, new media aesthetic, and 19th-21st century intellectual history. He is also an avid fan of Bayer Leverkusen, his hometown German soccer team.
