How you close a year is very important.  The beginning of a year is a door, likewise the end. How you open a door is as important as how you close it. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." The exit of one year leads to the beginning of another. It’s therefore essential to know how to make these transitions.
