Most BBQers have a distinct flavor profile for all of their food, which makes sense because most of us use the same rub for everything we do. At Gordo's BBQ, Mike takes pride in making each dish have its own distinct flavor profile. Something like this takes a-lot of time and effort, especially when you are in the catering business, and catering for over 200 people at a time. Sit back and listen to the story of Gordo's BBQ from the begging.

Warning: You will hear the moans and groans of a grown man enjoying some of the best BBQ in this area.

This is a re-recording of my first Podcast Episode. My original episode 1 was deleted some how 😄 so it left a blank space on Spotify and everywhere my podcast aired. So I needed to re-record This Episode, but I wanted to make sure the sound quality was just as horrible as that first episode was. So I recorded this whole episode with my phone, and boy is the sound quality bad. But I think this short episode really explains much better about Why I do what I do, because now I’ve done it 51 times and I hope I will do it 10,000 more. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Raysflavs is not for the fans, it is the fans. I had an amazing time hanging out with one of my hardcore regular listeners, and supporters.. Mr. Salvador Orozco, better known as Chop. Despite his horrible internet connection we managed to talk for an hour and a half. We talked about a speak easy that he built in an undisclosed location from the ground up. Its a beautiful place located in the center of 3 acres (not going to tell you where coppers). Here is where Chop also runs a printing chop, where he specializes in designing custom Merchandize for all kinds of local businesses. Sal is a next level artist and his sketches are next, next level. In the early 2000's there was this killer Spanish Rock scene going down, and I happened to find my way in the middle of it by playing with Buen Estar at the time. A-lot of bands stood out to me but one in particular blew my mind, because it was only 3 dudes. Wilfredo Mendez, James Ramirez, and Ed Velasquez. I know I'm crazy but i thought they sounded like Oingo Boingo in Espanol, or at least had the same energy. Sadly one of the members of Fitter, singer, song writer, Wilfredo passed away in 2021. In this episode we talk about the origins of  the band, their early friendship and an upcoming special memorial concert coming up on August 13th at the Zebulon. Quick interview with my friend Jesus from LA Barbershop. I have been coming here for years to get my haircut, and it was great to finally hear his story.
