Many people would be shocked to learn that sexual assault kits—a critical element in criminal cases—can sometimes be mishandled, misplaced, or even lost due to insufficient resources, procedures, and processes within our medical and criminal systems overall. To solve this critical problem with potentially severe consequences, Georgia’s Criminal Justice Coordination Council (CJCC) partnered with Slalom’s Public & Social Impact industry group to develop a statewide tracking system victims are empowered to use as they pursue justice in the legal system.
