Dr. Trigueiro is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a doctorate of nursing practice. Dr. Trigueiro is currently pursuing a career working to help people with the complex needs of homelessness, substance use disorders, and serious mental illness through comprehensive services, treatment. Dr. Trigueiro’s roles include providing psychiatric services, as well as outreach and office-based substance use disorder treatment. Dr. Trigueiro’s specialties include addiction medicine, and the treatment of mood and psychotic disorders, including anxiety, depression, and schizophrenia. He has extensive training in multiple modalities of psychotherapy and has a growing interest in cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis. Dr. Trigueiro is also an American Psychiatric Nursing Association scholar and published author whose research includes cardiovascular health disparities in those with severe mental illness, especially minority populations. Dr. Trigueiro’s interest in research led him to become part of the Northwest Behavioral Health Research Alliance, a practice-based research network, where he educates clinicians, academics, and social workers on health and racial equity research frameworks.
