In this sermon, we see how God confronts the priests of Israel for failing to honour His name, for corrupting true teaching, and for causing His people to stumble. Through this sobering passage, we see the importance of reverence, faithful instruction, and godly leadership among the people of God.Malachi shows us what spiritual leaders were meant to be, what they had become, and how Christ fulfils the priesthood perfectly as our Great High Priest. We also consider what this means for the church today as we pray for and discern future elders and pastors.
