“The church is losing its salt.” In this podcast we claim that the church is no longer exerting the influences of salt and light on western (specifically American) society.

We kick off our first official episode of Rebuild by interviewing each other about why we aer doing this podcast and what we hope to accomplish. In short, we are doing this because we have become convinced that something has to be done. America has rejected God and is either approaching an inevitable collision with God’s judgment, or we are nearing the last off ramp before we run out of road. We ask each other these riveting questions, guaranteed to delight and mystify you.

• What do you think we are doing here?
• How did you come to the point where you think that Christians, and the church, should work to bring the teachings of the Bible to bear on cultural, not just religious issues?
• 15 years ago, you were the resident college pastor at our church. What was the church doing right at the time that you think still holds value today?
• You are very good at talking with people and asking them questions. What do you think can be done to convince Christians that the Bible speaks to all aspects of life, and therefore that we must work to see God’s principles worked out in all areas of society and culture?

• What do you see as the biggest hindrance for the average church attending American to an appropriate engagement and interaction with this subject matter?
• Christians who are saying the things that we are saying are sometimes accused of running around like Chicken Little. Are we being alarmists?
