How much money do you have that is investable that you don't need for 3-5 years?

It's not about picking one investment, it's about constructing a portfolio, making a plan and being prepared for the future.

What do you already own that you can invest?

Do you have liquid safe cash and risk assets already?

If you have any debt (such as credit card debt), it's important to pay it off. 

Another thing to consider is your income and how often you will be in possession of money you can invest.
