This week, Kate has written, and discarded, an essay she didn't like. Other essays she doesn't like: the "persuasive" five paragraph essay format she learned in high school, which she preemptively attacked with an F bomb under the guise of giving writing advice to a class of eighth graders who in a few short weeks will start high school and find out for themselves why they should ignore the only kind of writing high school ever teaches.
