Hello. Welcome to Inviting Calm. I am a work in progress when I think about this idea of connection and being more present. Like so many people, I have a busy mind and an active inner critic. Being connected and present may take work and practice . Acknowledging emotions and using experiences to help navigate the present while avoiding going down the rabbit hole and the voice of the inner critic taking over.
Moments of calm and being connected allowing presence of mind to be fully engaged and open.
Alan Watts reminds us that “The art of living is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor fearful clinging on the other. It consists in being sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive.”
I invite you to join me in this short guided meditation. I have incorporated some breathwork with a modified version of the 5,4,3,2,1 grounding method. As an educator, many of my meditations are designed to be used in a variety of settings- including the classroom. This meditation is designed to be used by a variety of ages from elementary aged students- adult. Hopefully, giving another tool allowing people to self-regulate and connect.
