Not all writing is about storytelling. Sometimes, when we are writing or creating our projects it is a good idea NOT to write about the story. During different phases of development we will need to dig into our story - with writing that has nothing (apparently) to do with our story or even our characters in our story. Sometimes we need to look at what has gone on before the timeline of our story. Sometimes we need know their past, their history, what their life use to look like so we can appreciate their journey. We can also use this as fodder for our story creation. And sometimes we explore layers of the work that might never be seen by our reader or audience member - but it sure will be felt.
