Joëlle Buyckx is a Miami-based, Italian-American singer-songwriter from Rome, Italy. Not too long ago, she released a heartfelt R&B tune, entitled, “Separate Ways.”

‘Separate Ways’ tells a heartfelt tale about a young woman who recently experienced a painful breakup with her significant other. Apparently, he wants her back and wishes for them to start all over (or go back to how things used to be when they first met). But she knows from experience that their relationship can’t ever happen again because they are simply not compatible as a couple. Therefore, she tells him, “I’m better without you. I know it took me some time, but now, we should pretend that it’s over and move our own separate ways.”

After my first songs being in the nu-disco editorial playlist, and on radio stations around the globe, I decided to show a different side of my sound that feels more intimate and deep.” – Joëlle Buyckx explained
Joëlle Buyckx comes from a Mexican mother and French father. Music has always been a part of her life, but in the last few years, she’s realized nothing makes her feel the way music does. Her multifaceted upbringing has given her the ability to keep an open mind to different perspectives and she sees differences as strengths – her music derives from that dynamic.
Also, she doesn’t follow rules, only what feels and sounds good in its own unique way. What really matters to her is evoking a mood and making people feel a certain way through sounds and visuals. Lastly, she hears in colors and sees in sounds, and she hopes her music can make listeners do the same.
