Hempcrete is a construction material made from the woody core of the hemp plant, also called the shives. The shives are mixed with lime and water to create a mortar-like substance that can be used in place of traditional concrete or insulating materials like fiberglass or styrofoam. Hempcrete has a number of advantages over these other materials, including being much more environmentally friendly.
